Mrs. Kendra Shelton
Hello, I am a 2009 Ava High school Alumni. Upon graduating, I attended Jefferson college where I played college softball as a pitcher and graduated with my Associates of Arts degree. After Jeffco, I decided to attend Nursing school at Cox College in Springfield, Missouri. While this fueled my love of science, I quickly determined that Nursing was not the field I wanted to go into and instead transferred to Drury University. I graduated from Drury University Magna Cum Laude in December of 2015 with a Bachelor's of Science degree with emphasis in Secondary Education.
I began my teaching career at Ava High School, where I taught for 5 years. I taught a variety of science courses while being an assistant coach for both the high school and Junior high softball teams. In 2020, I earned my Masters in Education Administration from William Woods University.
This is my 7th year teaching. I will be teaching Anatomy, Astronomy, Biology, Ecology, and Forensics and am also one of the Senior Sponsors. I am married to my husband Trae, and together we have 3 beautiful children: Finley, Sloane, and Ridge. My family enjoys hunting, playing a variety of sports and being outside hiking, fishing or swimming at the lake.
